Chocolates for the Holiday Season and Other Occasions

The Holiday Season heightens many people’s love for chocolate. I’m not really sure why but the festivities involved in Christmas New Year seems to trigger the need to be happy. Having said that, what better way is there to celebrate the season than with loved ones and some food (like chocolates) on the table? :-)

The amount of antioxidants in chocolates is good (normally). The main factors that determine the different amounts of antioxidants that you can derive from chocolates is of course the concentration of cocoa and processing. Not all chocolates are created equal. Some taste better than others. Some are also made for specific occasions and purposes such as Valentines day gifts for somebody close to your heart.

However, researchers recommend that you should not “use chocolate as a stand-in for fat-free fruits and veggies. It just doesn’t work that way. An ounce of dark chocolate can contain a whopping 11 g of fat, so you have to compromise elsewhere in your diet to make room for the calories. But if you eat your 1-oz piece of chocolate slowly and mindfully, it should satisfy your most serious chocolate cravings, which can help you stick to a healthy eating plan.

As a health tip this Holiday Season, don’t eat too much chocolate even if it’s extremely tempting. You dont want to gain more pounds than you want, do you? Happy New Year!

    Roy,

Maganda yan a. I was also toying with the idea na mag-establish ng chocolate business dito sa min (Ilocos Norte). I think you can make a killing in that business kung matututukan mo lang.
