Telling Stories With Pictures/Photos: The Week That Was
I have been very busy this past week designing 3 online stores using different opensource softwares. I am also testing 2 commercial softwares in order to put the online stores together. One store is for a supplier of computers and parts while the other two are designed for Wordpress themes and other stuff.
My client-friend, Kathy (owner of Infineon Technologies Laoag City), offered me great deals this Christmas. I would like to share the story of our conversation with the aid of photos/pictures. In telling stories, using visual aids like photos, charts or graphs really help a lot in conveying the message to the readers, audience or class.
Infineon Technologies, by the way, is the biggest supplier/retailer of desktop computers, laptops, computer parts and peripherals here in Ilocos Norte. They have branches in several towns in Ilocos Norte. The location of their main branch is at the heart of Laoag City. I am currently working on the design of their online store and we are hoping to launch it in February 2009. They have many partners in Manila and abroad, and their online store is being designed to reach more people nationwide so sales can go up and make the owner richer by a few millions. lol! Watch out for the launch of their online store. If the time comes, you can place your orders online wherever you are in the Philippines. I’m sure you’ll all be satisfied with their products and warranty. I can vouch for them.
In addition, I have blogged about this topic earlier (the purchase of a new netbook from Infineon) but I did not indicate the details of the conversation regarding the purchase of a second Acer Aspire One 8GB SSD netbook. Here is what transpired during our brief negotiation:
Me: What? Ang mahal naman ng mga netbooks ngayon. Nakakagulat ang presyo.
Kathy: Hello? Police station ba to? Can you please pick up someone here in my store? Mukhang hoodlum eh.
Me: Hoodlum ka dyan! Basagin ko kaya tong netbook na to? Hindi pa nga kita hinoholdap eh. Holdapin kita later, ok? Andami mo nang pera eh. 
Kathy: Ah! Ayaw mong umalis ah. Nasan na ba yung Katana ko dito. Teka hindi ko mahagilap dito sa bag ko.
Me: Sandali na lang ako. I will just email KC Concepcion.
Kathy: Hehe! Hindi mo masendan ng email si KC ano? Magtext ka na lang.
Me: Papano ko makaka-encode dito eh mas malaki pa yung keyboard ng calculator ko dito?
Kathy: Sir ambaba naman ng tawad nyo.
Me: Hahaha! Ano pa ba hahanapin mo? Ang ganda na ng offer ko. Isang dosenang maong na underwear galing sa ukay-ukay. Yung 3-for-100.
Kathy: Ayaw!
Me: Sige na nga bigyan pa kita ng maong na shorts. Deal?
Me: Wala na naman akong pera. Pano na yung pang-load ni KC? Yung pambayad ni Valerie ng apartment? Yung sustento ni Angelica? Yung pang-gasolina ni Marian? Naku tigang ang pasko ko nito.
Then we decided to build an online store for Infineon Technologies Laoag which donated 10 New WinXp keyboards, 10 60mL. universal refill kits, three 160GB Seagate hard disks and two 4GB USB drives to my staff. The management and staff of Infineon Technologies are truly amazing (though they make my life a bit miserable whenever I make a purchase from their store and check my bank accounts later. lol!)

Yan ang pinagkakaabalahan ko ngayon fren. Ang hirap buuin nung online store. Maraming products + madugo yung configurations kaya di ako ganong makablog. Matagal pa ang development nyan fren. Yung online store nga natin for the Wordpress Themes eh underway rin. Sinasabay ko na. By late January eh ok na yun.
