Final Preparations for the November 2008 Nursing Board Exam (NLE)
Jen (my wife) and I are doing our final preparations for the November 2008 Nursing Board Exam (NLE) and I really find this week long, gruelling, and stressful. The November 2008 Nursing Board Exam or NLE is my wife’s first shot at the PRC-administered test and I was “threatening” her that she should make it a one-time-only exam.
I have never failed in any exam before and maybe my expectations are high. On the other hand, I sometimes console her during our review and usually tell her that if she fails, it will be just fine. However, jokingly, I told her that if she flunks the November 2008 Nursing Board Exam, she will not join the June 2009 Nursing Board Exam. Instead, she’ll just blog about it. lol! She didn’t take it seriously. I wasn’t really serious either. However, I really, really want to see her name in the list of Nursing Board Exam Passers of November 2008. Like I said, the nursing review is costly and with all my expenses as of late, I might not be able to finance her second review if she will fail on her first attempt.
We are going to stay at a cheap apartelle in Baguio City for a week and our trip will be tomorrow. Right now we are preparing all the materials we both will need for our week-long stay in the “Summer Capital of the Philippines”.
In addition to this, if you are going to take the November 2008 NLE, may I offer you the following suggestions:
- Prepare your personal belongings (especially if you’re taking the exam in Baguio City or somewhere far from your own place). If you’re a male, these items could include the following: towels, shaver, briefs, pants, t-shirts, shorts and cell phones. If you’re a female, you should consider bringing with you sanitary pads (just in case).
- Check and prepare all your books/references/review materials.
- Make sure your ATM card (if you have one) has enough money in it. Bring some extra cash for miscellaneous expenses like fare (taxi, bus, jeep, pencils, eraser, snacks, etc.).
- Make sure your cell phone is loaded prior to your trip. Bring your charger.
- Don’t forget the documents required by PRC.
- Bring your school uniforms if you were required to wear them during the exam.
- If you’re bringing a digital camera, make sure the batteries are fully charged. bring extra batteries also.

Snow,
Thanks for the comment. I really hope more than 70% passes the November 2008 Nursing board exam. If you have any experience in taking a licensure test, you should know what I mean. The pressure is too much in anticipation of the exam, let alone the final results.
