Aspartame in Coke Zero, Pepsi Max and Other Beverages is Cancerous or Carcinogenic

I recently received a text message convincing people not to drink Coke Zero and Pepsi Max. This is due to the chemical component of the two softdrinks called aspartame, which can also be found in other beverages. Aspartame is a chemical commonly substituted for sugar. Aspartame is an artificial sweetener which is also sold as a separate commodity in the market under different brand names like NutraSweet, Equal, and Canderel. The original purpose of aspartame is to provide people with diabetes a substitute for natural sugar. Despite this purpose, aspartame has been found cancerous or carcinogenic by various researches in the past.

The text message about aspartame reads

The new Coke Zero & Pepsi Max contains aspartame, a chemical substituted for sugar, which is known to be carcinogenic or cancerous. Cancer is now the leading cause of death worldwide so do not drink Coke Zero and Pepsi Max.

The negative side effects of aspartame to health have been proven in other countries. In fact, Coca-Cola and Pepsi faced charges from consumer groups in the United States and other western countries. Details of these cases will be dealt with in the future as part of my objective to publish some case studies and nursing researches in this site. Updates will be posted as soon as possible.

  1. Really? I often buy Coke Zero or Pepsi Max, not for it’s supposedly sugar-less benefits, but they’re cheaper than the regulars.

Bakit naman di pa na recall ang mga products? I hope they would do that soon.
By the way thanks for sharing this.

    Shiera,

Coke and Pepsi have cases filed against them in court for the aspartame content of their products. I’ll look into this and update the article when I get the chance. For now I suggest you go natural. :-)

    Joy,

That’s one of the disadvantages of drinking Coke Zero, Pepsi Max and other beverages which are slightly acidic - you get UTI. My wife gets that sometimes that’s why we seldom drink softdrinks.

  3. Sinabi mo pa bro. I don’t know why these were not regulated. It was already cited before aspartame is dangerous but seemed no one is bothering to check on this.

    Bro,

It’s all about business and money. Big companies like Coke and Pepsi have in mind money to make before the safety of the public. Just like Chinese companies producing milk with melamine: income first, social responsibility later or never at all.

Aspartame is even worse than melamine because many consumers are addicted to softdrinks like Coke and Pepsi. Many people have already been affected and can still be affected by drinking these beverages often.

  5. Elaine,

I really do not drink Coke and Pepsi because I have known long before this post that it contains aspartame or artificial sweetener. It’s not really healthy to drink these stuff. It’s ok if you only drink it once in a while but frequent drinking of beverages with aspartame will make you sick.

Ahahaha! I even worked with Coca Cola fren. But you know what? Most of us do not drink Coke. Can you imagine?

It’s all about business talaga and making money kaya kahit may aspartame sa Coke or Pepsi eh sige lang dahil kumikita sila dun. I’ll research further kung ano na ang nangyari sa kaso laban sa Aspartame in Coke Zero and Pepsi Max case sa US.
