Purchasing a Coffee Maker Could Heighten My Coffee Addiction

I was out of the house the whole day today and shopped some items for the home which include a coffee maker for my stock brewed coffee here. I’m a coffee addict, I admit and I know that getting a new coffee maker could heighten my addiction to coffee. But who cares? Hehehe!

I have 8 bags (8 kilos) of stock brewed coffee here. I got some Columbian, Starbucks, Royal Kona (Arabica Coffee made of Chocolate Macadamia Nuts), Cofee Barako from Batangas and Coffee Barako from Baguio City. The “kapeng barako” from Baguio City is my favorite. I bought this when I visited Baguio last year and met with a friend (RJ). I wasn’t able to consume what I purchased (1/2 kilo worth 80 pesos) so until now I still have something in the cabinet. Most of my coffee stock at home are gifts from “Hawaiianos” in Ilocos Norte. Coffee, I think, is the favorite “pasalubong” to friends and family members among “balikbayans” here. Well, this practice is just culture, not that they know that coffee has more antioxidants than tea. lol!

I honestly feel that I am more healthy because of my daily coffee consumption. I actually consume coffee to detoxify daily to keep me fit, awake and feeling alert at all times. Being a full-time writer is not an easy job, you know. I need a stimulant to do some wonders when the eyes are drooping. :-)

The reason why I wasn’t able to brew all my coffee here is because I did not have a coffee maker. I only thought of buying a coffee maker after all these years after doing some auditing of household items and consumables this morning. Also, my “takuri” or kettle’s handle was broken and I wasn’t able to brew coffee this morning so I was forced to do the inevitable - buy a coffee maker worth PhP 1,290. WTF!

But hey, I really love the new coffee maker. I got an Imarflex ICM-800 with a total capacity of 12 cups. The brewing process takes less than 2 minutes (in full capacity). You know the reason why it brews this quick? It packs a 900W power under its sleeves! Whoaah! My electric bills are in real trouble. :-)

I will blog more about coffee and the different types of coffee when I get the chance. My wife and I are going to Baguio on the second week of November. In Baguio, they have a small coffee store inside the Maharlika market that sells at least six varieties of brewed coffee (Arabica and Barako included). For coffee lovers who are really keen on trying new coffee varities, then go to Baguio or ask someone there to send you some samples. I’m pretty sure, those fresh-smelling and newly-ground coffee will put great smiles on your faces. The smell is enough to make you want to wake you early in the morning even when they are not yet brewed. :-)

    Bro,

Ambait mo naman. Korek ka sa sinabi mong nageenjoy sila sa brewed coffee. Brewed coffee tastes a lot better than instant coffee (Great Taste, Nescafe, Cafe Puro, etc). The aroma of brewed coffee is very good indeed. It heightens senses amoy pa lang.
