Updated List of Milk and Milk Products Found Positive and Negative for Melamine Content by DOH-BFAD
Another short list of milk and milk products found positive and negative for melamine content was released yesterday by the Department of Health (DOH) and Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD). The updated list contains 3 milk and milk products found positive for melamine (malamine/melanine/melanin for some, which is a typographical error so I’ll take this chance to correct it here).
The following list of milk and milk products were found positive for melamine content:
- JollyCow Slender High Calcium Low Fat milk (1 Liter) – which contains 4 parts per million (ppm) of melamine, which is beyond the allowable limit of 0.5 ppm
- Mengyu
- Yili
Updated List of Milk and Milk Products found negative for melamine content are the following:
- Anmum Materna Milk Powder (Chocolate Flavor) 400 g
- Bear Brand Choco, 300g
- Bear Brand Sterilized Milk, 200ml
- Cadbury Choclairs
- Carnation Calcium Plus Non-Fat Milk powder
- Klim Instant Full Cream Milk Powder
- Milo Chocolate Bar, 40g
- Monmilk High Calcium Low Fat milk, 1 Liter
- Monmilk Breakfast Milk Walnut Milk Beverage
- Monmilk High Deluxe PURE Milk
- Nestle Chocolate Flavored Ice Cream
- Nestle Dairy Farm Pure Milk
- Nestle Fresh Milk, 1 Liter
- Nestle Kitkat
- Nestle Milk Chocolate, 40g
- Nestle Pops Ice Cream
- Nestle Flavored Vanilla Ice Cream
- Nestogen 1-DHA (now Nestogen One)
- Nesvita Cereal Milk Drink
- Nutri-Express Milk Drink (Green Apple flavor) 500 ml
- Prime Roast Instant Nutritious Cereal, 28g

I was in SM Supermarket yesterday when a middle-aged woman asked her companion if JollyCow Milk were one of the milk products with melamine content. I wanted to say, ‘parang hindi naman po, wala pa sa news’ but I didn’t say it na lang. She looked at me and said, ‘mahirap naman kasi sa ganyang, milyon milyon ibinabayad nila sa nag te-test para lang palabasing negative”. “Ganun po ba yun? kawawa naman mga tao” sabi ko.
Pag uwi namin, eksaktong napanood ko sa 24 Oras na contaminated pala ang Jollycow.

Eh di nagulat ka fren? Yan kasi ang hirap sa melamine testing ng mga milk and milk products. Hindi sabay-sabay. By batch ang testing eh. Also, the old lady has a good point. Testing of milk and milk products for melamine contamination can be manipulated (the results I mean).

Korek, nagulat talaga ako. Buti na lang di ko sinabi dun sa ale na hindi kasama yung jollycow sa contaminated. What if nakinig sya at bumili tapos pag-uwi nya mapapanood nya rin sa news na contaminated pala yung binili nya.

Yan ang hirap fren dahil hindi sabay-sabay yung release ng list of milk products contaminated by melamine. The laboratory tests could go on for a few more months.

Naku naman kuya ang hirap..the list is getting longer and longer..
Included pala ang Nestiva? mahilig pa nman c Mama ko niya, parang last month lang eh meron kami dito sa bahay buti na sya bumili ulit. Good thing wala sa list ang Anchor Fresh Milk, yon ang gatas namin dito eh. Sana nama matapos na itong mga testing nila para the people will have peace of mind na.
