List of Milk Products That Could Be Banned in the Philippines Due to High Melamine Content

The following is an updated list of milk brands and milk products (including chocolate and other dairy products) being investigated by the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD Philippines) for Melamine Content. These milk products/brands could be banned in the Philippines on suspicion of high or excessive Melamine content. Most of the milk products/brands included in the list are made in China.

However, no official word from the BFAD has been heard yet and the public is hereby advised to consider the list of milk and dairy products as a precautionary measure only. Remember, these products are not yet officially banned in the country for now but is is highly recommended that you do not buy them.

Here is the updated list of milk and milk products being tested for excessive melamine content. These could be banned in the Philippines in about a week or two from today. Sooner banning of these milk products (especially those made in China) is in my view better for the Philippine consumers:

My first post containing the first list of milk and milk products (List of Milk Products Being Investigated by BFAD for Melamine Content) included 55 items. The updated list contains 52 milk products/brands. I strongly suggest you read my first article to see the changes. If these milk products/brands are banned in the Philippines, I think everyone can finally give this issue a rest and the Melamine Scare will no longer scare consumers from buying any milk brand from stores.

  1. Ang dami naman nito. I should ask my sister, dahil nabanggit niya once na ang milk na hiyang sa anak niya ay galing sa labas ng bansa. It’s good to have precautions.

    Fren,

Yun nga ang problema dahil maraming bata ang hiyang sa melamine. Hahaha! Seriously, dapat talagang mag-shift ng milk brands ang mga parents. They should really avoid milk brands and products made in china. Mahirap na. China-made products are known to contain excessive amounts of melamine eh deadly chemical pa naman yan.

    Fren,

Nabalitaan mo rin pala yung lead content ng China-made dolls and toys. Oo nga eh. Very low ang safety standards nila sa China at maraming factories ang inferior ang technology and equipment.

  3. Here in South Africa we have also been confronted with this scare. It is frightening to think that something as innocent looking as chocolate can be dangerous. We will have to learn to read labels much more carefully. Thanks for the post.

    Rika,

Yes, that is true. The melamine scare is worldwide in reach. Melamine contents of milk and milk-products made in China worldwide are under investigation. In Europe, South Africa and many Asian countries, melamine-contaminated milk and milk products have been recalled since the outbreak of the melamine scare. I really hope this melamine controversy stops soon to give the buying public the peace of mind it deserves.

Kabayan, totoo yan. Made in China milk and milk products are laced with melamine which should prompt the Philippine government to ban these products as soon as possible for the safety of the Filipino consumers.

    Nicely,

Hahaha! Korek. Melamine is to milk as melanin is to skin. Others even think that melamine is malamine in milk and milk products made in China. This melamine scare is really confusing to many people.
