College Sports Could Be the Start of a Bright Career in Sports

The arrival of this opportunity at the height of the Beijing 2008 Olympics is very timely. Don’t you know that many professional athletes and Olympians started as college sports superstars? Well, for some they’re lucky to have started young. In China, the national Geographic Channel featured young Chinese (as young as 3 years old) being trained to compete in the Olympics when they come of age.

In basketball, most National Basketball Association (NBA) and Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players started as varsity players of their respective schools in college. The same trend can be seen in other sports like football, baseball and hockey.

If you are in high school or college, and aspiring to become one of the sports superstars of the future, try to proceed to the following website: for high schools - High school sports live; and for college - College recruiting video.

The basic idea here is to gain exposure. In the Philippines, that’s what many young athletes lack - exposure. Many Pinoys and Pinays are good in boxing, swimming, gymnastics, sprint, etc. But happens to them is they grow old without even getting the opportunity to show what they got. The Philippines do not have a recruiting committee that is supposed to scout for talented young athletes from across the archipelago. Even in college, there is a limited number of College Recruiting groups that can help young Filipino athletes harness their full potentials especially in the provinces.
