Names of Filipino Athletes Participating in the Beijing 2008 Olympics
The following is an update on my post “The Philippine Olympic Team in the 2008 Beijing Olympics“. I was not able to include in that article the names of Filipino athletes who are participating in the Beijing 2008 Olympics and their events because of the unavailability of data.
Here is the short list of 15 Filipino athletes representing the Philippines in the 2008 Beijing Olympics:
- Archery – Mark Javier
- Shooting – Eric Ang
- Taekwondo – Marie Antoinette Rivero and Tshomlee Go
- Swimming – Miguel Molina, Christel Simms, James Walsh, Daniel Coakley and Ryan Arabejo,
- Boxing – Harry Tañamor
- Weightlifting – Hidilyn Diaz
- Long jump – Marestella Torres and Henry Dagmil
- Diving – Shiela Mae Perez and Ryan Fabriga
Good luck once again to the Philippine delegates to the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Go for Gold, Team Philippines!!!

Just dream swimmers of the RP team because there is no way you can beat the US for that; I mean they’re at a record right now and think they’ll still grab some more. There maybe an opportunity for the RP to win, I guess when it is time for us to host the Olympics (if that will ever happen… I guess it won’t, dream on!!!).

wala talaga ang pinas pagdating sa sports… ang iba nating kauring bansa clasified as 3rd world countries ay may medals na, may naka gold pa.. merong pang mas mahirap sa atin at mas kakaunti ang populasyon ay nasa medal board na rin.. nakakadismaya , kakainis isipin… mga pulutiko, mambabatas at sa mga kinauukulan, gawan naman ninyo ng magandang programa sa sports ang ating mga kababayang Pilipino. At sa mga athletang Pilipino, saludo ako sa inyo, mabuhay kayo.. Kayo ang mga tunay na bayani ng Pilipinas..

They are our best athletes but, unfortunately, not good enough against the world.
The government should overhaul the sports system in the country.
