Do You Want to be Filthy Rich?
Here in the Philippines, there’s only a handful of individuals or families that are filthy rich. With a population of more than 88 million (and counting), millionaires in the country do not even account for .0001 per cent of this number. There are a few billionaires who control most industries like telecommunications, energy, banking and finance, and real estate. Hence, the gap between the rich and the poor remain wide. Distribution of wealth in the Philippines is uneven. Statistically, we can describe the distribution as platykurtic and positively skewed (i.e., the median is low or flat and there are more values on the left of the graph with a flat tail on the right). Ok, enough with statistical concepts. Just look at the graph below: 
While of them have rags to riches stories, most of them inherited their fortunes. With the present economic conditions of the country, many Filipino scan claim that it’s very difficult to become Nouveau Riche, a French term which refers to a person who has acquired considerable wealth within his generation.
How can we be Nouveau Riche just like Bill Gates (who retired from Microsoft a few weeks ago)? Do we need to work very hard? Work smart? Or, maybe we just need sheer luck? In all honesty, I cannot provide the answer. In Bill Gates’ story, he got lucky for the most part. In a blogger’s perspective, he found his niche. lol!
So, you want to be Nouveau Riche, huh? If yes, then maybe you should also find your niche. When I say niche, I mean here the activity or field that makes you the most money. Whether it be in the field of Information Technology (IT), real estate, making money online, providing internet service, networking or serving food to travelers, go for it. Perseverance is the key. You might argue with this philosophy but most people I know who became rich persevered. They scratched and crawled their way to success and wealth. And guess what? It usually pays off. Work hard, work smart and pray that you’ll get lucky, and we might be seeing a new rich man in you in the near future.

i agree with you kuya, perseverance and hard work are the key to success… mas masarap kasi kuya pg pinaghirapan mo di ba..
di naman kasi tayo nanggaling sa mga filthy rich na angkan eh kaya kayod kalabaw talaga..
malay mo kuya eh isa ikaw sa mga rich men in the future..near or far? hehehe..
