Manny Pacquiao or David Diaz on Lethal Combination?

The Pacquiao-Diaz fight result could end up in a knockout. Pacquiao is a knockout artist and so is Diaz. They both have knockout powers in their hands and Manny’s current state on TV seems like he’s ready for the WBC Lightweight championship match titled “Lethal Combination” in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday (8am Philippine time on Solar Sports). This is Manny’s bid to win a championship title in four divisions starting from the flyweight division at 112 lbs followed by super bantamweight (122 lbs) and super featherweight (130 lbs). Will he wear a fourth world championship belt on Sunday? The only way to find out the fight result is to watch.

Personally, however, I think Manny has become a tamed fighter. His fight with Juan Manuel Marquez saw a better boxer, not a stronger slugger – his characteristic that many fans worldwide love about him. Manny Pacquiao is a great fighter and I don’t question his abilities but with Diaz’ pedigree, he might want to be more aggressive. He should stop Diaz in the early rounds (between 5-6) for me to win my bet. lol!

Moreover, as a mathematician, with the present betting odds in Las Vegas (1:4) in favor of Manny Pacquiao, the fight resulting in a decision could favor David Diaz. Why? Simple – business. If you bet 100 dollars for Diaz and he wins, you win 400 dollars. A simple ratio.

  1. Manny Pacquiao should not be too confident. I saw his coach, Freddie Roach, on TV saying that the only way for Diaz to win over Pacquiao is through a miracle. This is too much bragging. He should not speak such words because they might encourage Manny to become complacent. In the end, he might lose to a fighter which his coach belittled before the fight.
