Alcohol, Hangover and a Good Morning Bath
Too much alcohol in the body can make your head spin, hence the origin of the word “hangover”. People during the ancient times observed that when they drink too much wine or rum, they hang their heads over their boats, the railings of their homes, veranda or porch.
To reduce dizziness when the body takes in too much alcohol (beyond the body’s threshold), either you drink Alka Zeltser, 2-3 cups of black coffee and take a cold bath as soon as you get up in the morning (or lunch time, like in my case wherein my usual waking time is between 10-11am). If you prefer to experiment, try some combinations (or variations of combinations) of the three suggested detoxification methods.
Honestly, I’m not really a good drinker. I’m a lousy drunk that’s why I don’t drink alcohol or beer during ordinary days. I have a very low alcohol threshold and having alcohol in my system slows me down. It has a depressing effect on me. I was not just able to say NO to it yesterday because friends came over my place and brought a lot of stuff for the whole gang to share – wine, beer, gin and rum. Your pick. In the morning, everyone’s concern was detoxification. Wheww!
If you prefer a cold bath, and you have bathtubs at home, better use one of them. Sometimes, the sensation of being submerged in cold water helps the body to relax and feel rejuvenated.
Whatever is your bathtub – claw foot tub or whirlpool tubs – they will do just fine.
Since I don’t own a bathtub myself, I use what is available at home – a “bath ya” (or batya, a big one I tell you). Luckily, I also have a drum or bariles where I store water for my plants. It’s a blessing in disguise because it’s like taking a dip in a bathtub. Same effects, really. Now, I feel refreshed and ready to blog again. lol!

Fren,
Hindi na lasing yung may hangover. Masakit na lang ang ulo at katawan nya sa kalasingan the night that passed pero may alcohol pa rin sa sistema nya.
