Mozilla Firefox 3 Download Is Slow and File is Corrupted
A while ago, I posted about the Firefox 3 download in progress and how I intend to test it for others’ benefit. Sad to say, the download speed of the English version is slow and it took me hours to download the file 5 times because the installer is corrupted. The release date of Firefox must have created a commotion among users that their servers have been flooded by downloaders.
I don’t know what’s wrong but up to now, the download is not yet complete. It’s bugging me because my internet connection is good but the downloaded Firefox 3 is not functional. In fact I can’t install it.
If you want to try the new Firefox 3, download it here: Firefox 3 download page. You try it then tell me if the downloaded file works. Comments about the “look and feel” of Firefox 3 will be highly appreciated.

Billy,
I found out that Firefox 3 is incompatible with many of my plugins/extensions. Too bad, I’m going to remove it soon. For now i’ll stick with Firefox 2.0.0.14

Fren,
The download finally completed after 6 years. lol! Honestly, I like the Firefox 2.0.0.14 more than Firefox 3. The latest version is incompatible with so many plugins/extensions/widgets. I can’t use MoneyQuake, Google Toolbar and others that I use as blogging tools.

Sorry to hear about your problem downloading ff3.. this is probably the effect of the “Download Day” where they try to gather as much people as possible to download ff3 on the same day to break the Guinness World Record.. try a few days later and it should be fine

Kengkay,
The download is ok now. I have installed firefox 3 but I don’t like its features (i.e., compatibility issues with my plugins or extensions). I did a rollback to Firefox 2.0.0.14

Twerlyn,
Firefox 3 is disgusting. There was so much buzz about it but it didn’t measure up to my expectations

I have observed that too. My PC slowed down a bit. That’s why I did a rollback to the older version of Firefox.

Click “Open” instead of “Save” in the download prompt and you shouldn’t have a problem. If you follow the instructions at the Fire Fox website it will guide you through it.
