What is your problem in the new curriculum? I can't see anything different in it. In fact they could help student nurses more credible to be a registered nurse. I am a student(nursing) actually, I have been exposed to these two subjects just last year and they do add up to my knowledge. I think the problem is in you guys. You are viewing it negatively. Anyway, you are entitled for you own opinion and you deserve it. But the point is if you are really deserving to be a professional nurse then time will make a way for that matter. If your not then it's not yet your time, maybe because you didn't gave some effort and one factor also is that, you are lacking on some of the nursing concepts. One concept actually is very important in making your future, so which is which? one concept or two missed? or a lifetime achievement?

the foundation of nursng curriculum that has been newly offered in various colleges and universities can be traced back 10 to 20 decades ago in which GN served as the springboard priori to the BSN supplemental units to comply the degree. basically, it will help the students to hone the primordial domains of learning - cognitive, affective and psychomotor. In the recent ADCPN convention (2009) the locus of the 5 year nursing curriculum will give much emphasis to the skills of the students. Yes, that is true. Nursing does not only confine itself to the knowledge based alone. However, the implementation of the nursing curriculum is not the answer to the devastating status quo of nursing profession. It is in the hands of the administrators to assess its capabilities and competitive advantage on what they can offer to their various stakeholders. Integrate the quality management system approaches and its core elements to yield a better program because the standards that are set in the local setting do not suffice the global requirements (as stated in the Global Standards for Nursing Education, WHO, 2008). The QMS has been an imperative tool utilized by myriad of nursing institutions in global perspectives.

Those two subjects I believe should be a part of a BSN curriculum. Those are basic courses in North America. What the Education Dept is to delete some courses which are not very important. For example, Nutrition.. this is just a topic which could be integrated to Fundamentals of Nursing; another one is Computer...it could be just a topic of another subject.

Hi guys! i am a student nurse and just want to say that nursing is not an easy course and i really wanted to make my life easy so the new curriculum really sounds bad. however, when we think of it, our soon-to-be profession requires us to be excellent enough to provide the care our patients need. Nursing is not all about the compensation you get; rather, it is about caring and nothing more. The two additional subjects, if i am not mistaken, are needed to really emphasize nursing as a science and eventaully an art, that nursing is a caring profession. I was disappointed to read from one of the comments that bedside nursing is easy. IT IS NOT. remember, the life of the patient is in our hands. we do not need mediocre nurses here!! MEDIOCRITY MAY KILL A PERSON! I also believe that the addition of hours in the clinical duty is necessary becasue some nursing students do not have yet the basic competence and skills of a beginning professional (this is based on my observation and interview of several nursing educators). isa pa, suggestion ninyo ay maglagay ng foreign language course instead na yung life and works of rizal...isipin ninyo, kailangan nating pag-aralan ito para maibalik sa ating kamalayan ang ninakaw na cultural identity sa atin ng mga espanyol, kano, at hapon. base sa aking napansin sa mag comments dito, tila nawawala na nga ang pagkakakilanlan ng mga pilipino sa kanilang mga sarili...nakakaawa naman...
