Pacquiao-Diaz Fight: Who Will Prevail?

Between Manny Pacquiao and David Diaz, Who is Your Bet?

The Pacquiao-Diaz fight news is all over the net as their fight in Las Vegas titled “Lethal Combination” gets near. I have also posted an article about this in my News site about the Pacquiao vs. Diaz match in Las Vegas on June 28 (US time) and 29 (Philippine time) between the two champions. In this site though, I’d like to get the opinions of readers on who they think will take home the WBC Lightweight Championship belt: is it going to be Manny Pacquiao (the reigning WBC Superfeatherweight Champ) or David Diaz (the current champ in the 135-lb lightweight division)?

The stakes are high because this is a new weight class for Manny Pacquaio. However, as a Pinoy like Manny, my heart will always go to him. He has shown not just once or twice how strong is his will to fight whatever is the outcome. He has survived the test of time and the test of life outside the ring starting from being a “boy” and “panadero” (baker) to becoming the most recognizable figure in sports entertainment of our time.

Like many Filipinos who love the sport of boxing, I usually place bets with my family and friends for fun. This time, when Manny Pacquiao faces another strong opponent in the person of David Diaz, my money remains with Manny as it always had been.

Now, through this medium called a blog, I’d like to hear from you your thoughts regarding the fight between Manny Pacquaio and David Diaz. Who will win the WBC Lightweight Championship belt? Choose your bet.

siempre Manny tayo kasi kababayan. But the problem is Manny lacks discipline as can be seen in his fight right now.He is already late in training.If he lacks stamina,he will surely loss.

Kuya, yun nga ang problema ke Manny kung minsan. Kumpyansa sa sarili nya. Manny Pacquiao though is predicted to knockout David Diaz if he will return to his original slugger style of fighting.

I think it would be a win for Manny in the late rounds ( 6-8 rounds ) ^_^, despite of Manny being late in his training he is still never loss its shape on Marquez fight. Of course, the fact that Manny moved up on the lightweight means he will have a greater power but will slow a bit on his movements. But considering that during the fight with Diaz and Morales, Morales knockout diaz in the 1st round with just a right counter hook, so it means if a more powerful puncher like Manny Pacquiao hit Diaz a solid punch it will be a KO. And i saw his fight with montano, diaz is slow, he swings really wide, he cant match in Manny’s speed and it will allow Manny to read all his punch. But of course Diaz’s team already knew that so they will try to give Manny a lot of body punches to slow him down. The reason why i said Diaz will kiss the canvas in late rounds and not in early rounds because i think Diaz will be 120% prepared for this fight considering that Manny was his ticket to fame and it will be the fight of his career. So Manny should break down his defense first and weakened him and then go for the kill.
