What Have You

Finally, my internet connection is healthy and stable after a month of calling Digitel Hotline 175 in Laoag City. The line has been made stable about an hour ago after having problems with it for almost a month. I have written about this in the past claiming that my DSL internet connection sucks.

The problem, according to the technical support department of DSL Laoag is the failure of parabolic antennas in Pangasinan to serve internet connections properly to its subscribers. It was only then that I found out Ilocos Norte subscribers depend on the signal forwarded by Pangasinan antennas. The route of data was indeed long and I have received the dreaded “REQUEST TIMED OUT” phrase over and over again for the past month.

Thanks to the quick action of the technical support team especially to Alexis P. Valdez and Hazel dela Cruz for taking time in dealing with my complaints. They had done a very good job and deserve commendation (or maybe promotion and increase in salary).

The effect of the failing internet connection in the past has done its irreversible damages to my income but that is something I can forget and forgive. Today, these two people, especially Alexis, made me a very happy man. Today, my internet connection is fast and stable (just the way I hoped it to be from the very start) and I need not think of ways to tweak internet connections for now. I just hope everything will work out this way from this day forward.

Lesson: Internet subscribers like myself need not hesitate to file their complaints because we deserve a decent connection. On the part of the support teams, technical problems can be addressed if they will only do their jobs properly and quickly. The subscribers are the lifeblood of any ISP. Before anything else, ISP’s should be able to protect the interest of their subscribers to avoid humiliation and to be able to build a good reputation as a company that truly cares for its clients. Just do your jobs well and the subscribers will pay their bills without regrets and with smiles on their faces.
