American Idol Results (May 7/8, 2008): Jason Castro Eliminated!
After Jason Castro’s dismal performance in the May 6, 2008 episode of American Idol, he was voted off tonight by text voters all over America. After seeing Jason Castro’s performance of “Mister Tambourine Man”, I immediately had the funny feeling that he will be eliminated in the elimination round of the Top 4 American Idol Season 7. Too bad, Jason Castro is my wife’s favorite.
Just like Brooke White, Jason Castro forgot some lines of his song and that made me think twice yeterday if I will write something about him. Jason’s voice is not tailored for rock songs and his vocal range is very limited. Jason Castro can sing ballad songs, the niche where he stands out, but rock or slow rocks songs are not just Jason’s forte.
Watch Jason Castro’s Youtube video performance here where he sings “I Shot the Sheriff”. This is actually Jason Castro’s first song during the performance night. Jason’s second song, Mister Tambourine Man, was equally forgettable.

Jason Castro is good, in fairness to him, but like what you’ve said his vocal range is very limited and his voice is not powerful. But for sure after his elimination in AI he’ll have lots of offers. He’s a star already. :]

Yeah, Jason Castro has got talents but he was outperformed by other contestants. David Cook is a very strong candidate for the American Idol title.
