Carly Smithson Eliminated : April 23 Results of American Idol
The American Idol 2008 Season 7 results of voting (April 23, 2008) came to me as a shock after Carly Smithson was eliminated from the competition. Carly Smithson’s performance of “Jesus Christ Superstar” was phenomenal in my view but text voters of the American Idol didn’t see it that way. The American Idol 2008 now only has five contestants remaining or Top 5. Carly Smithson missed her chance to finally become the next American Idol. But it’s ok. Carly has so much talent and her time will come.
Carly Smithson was voted off instead of Brooke White who was earlier predicted to be eliminated during the elimination round. It was just unfortunate for Carly that “It must be a bit of a popularity week in the vote.”, as Randy Jackson said to Ryan Seacrest. Well, that’s what happens when voters decide and not the judges.

The elimination of Carly Smithson is somewhat controversial, if one without any prior knowledge to how the eliminations work will look at it. Carly Smithson rocks! At least to the judges’ eyes – but not to the voters.

This is a big disappointment for me. I wasn’t able to watch the actual show and in a way, I am thankful because it would have been more heartbreaking for me. I like Carly a lot!

For me, I actually wanted Brooke White to be eliminated. I was so disappointed with her because she even forgot the lyrics of YOU MUST LOVE ME.

why why why? kuya. as in not fair.. i really thought brooke white was the one going home.. she didn’t really do well in her last performance. i’m not really a brooke white’s fan, carly was one of the best singer in the contest..i really thought she’ll be in the top 3..
the thing about contest like this one is that voters go for popularity, who’s hot and not for real talent.. i guess the voters who voted off carly were deaf..hahahaha

Me too. I was really disappointed with the results of American Idol April 23 edition. Carly should still be in the game if it was a talent competition. Brooke White should be voted off next time.

Carly Smithson’s elimination is unfair! She’s not supposed to be eliminated from American Idol Season 7. She’s one hell of a talent.
