Let’s Go Bull Riding for a Change

If you are familiar with cowboys, then it is most likely that you are popular with one of their sports – Rodeo. Many of us think that bull riding is rodeo. While that is true, there are many other categories of rodeo. Other categories include bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping and barrel racing.

In the united States the National Finals Rodeo, organized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, is the premier championship rodeo event in the United States. Wrangler Jeans is the title sponsor for the 10-day event, commonly just called the National Finals or NFR, which is also sometimes referred to as the World Series of Rodeo and the Super Bowl of Rodeo. The NFR is held each year in the first full week of December, at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Rodeo Photo Cowboy Christmas, a cowboy gift show, is held concurrent with the rodeo at the Las Vegas Convention Center. National Finals Rodeo tickets are sold in many parts of the United States especially in Las Vegas.

My experience with rodeo is confined in front of the television because I can only watch it on TV and not in real life. Rodeo events are frequently aired on ESPN, AX and Star Sports here in the Philippines.

My wife is actually interested in watching a live rodeo competition because she finds it fun. But our inability to see it in the US will not allow us to. On the otherhand, sometime ago, the Philippines initiated a rodeo competition somewhere in the Visayan region. Here in laoag City and Ilocos Norte, cows are not for sports but for the dining table. Well, given the chance, I’d be delighted to see cows in sports action because cowboys and cows are truly amazing to watch.

Option B: Eat one of the most delicious prime ribs, marinated and grilled to perfection.

    I’ll take option B
