What are the Forms of Astigmatism?
I am astigmatic. That’s the reason why I can’t stay long infront of my computer. It’s just that I can no longer stay away from it since I am a full-time geek. I’m sure some of you are astigmatic too. But what are the forms of astigmatism?
According to wikipedia.org, there are two distinct forms of astigmatism. The first is a third-order aberration, which occurs for objects (or parts of objects) away from the optical axis. This form of aberration occurs even when the optical system is perfectly symmetrical. This is often referred to as a “monochromatic aberration”, because it occurs even for light of a single wavelength. This terminology may be misleading, however, as the amount of aberration can vary strongly with wavelength in an optical system.
The second form of astigmatism occurs when the optical system is not symmetric about the optical axis. This may be by design (as in the case of a cylindrical lens), or due to manufacturing error in the surfaces of the components or misalignment of the components. In this case, astigmatism is observed even for rays from on-axis object points. This form of astigmatism is extremely important in ophthalmology, since the human eye often exhibits this aberration due to imperfections in the shape of the cornea or the lens.
I don’t know about you but if you think you are astigmatic, then consult an ophthalmologist. In most cases, I’m sure he will recommend wearing of eyeglasses or contact lenses. The good thing about having a check-up is common sense – you will be able to know what’s really wrong with your eyes and if there’s a need to correct them, you can if you will know the problem in the early stage before anything gets worse.

I’m done with eye check-up back in the Philippines and I just wear glasses during prolong usage of computer. I’m exposed to computer too since my high skul days. Before, I experience blard vision and headache so I stopped using computer until I study college with computer management course. So far okay na siya nung napahinga ko at okay narin mga mata ko but I still wear glasses but not to often just to protect my eyes. Jess may facebook account na ako at na search kita, Cute ng picture mo ah mukhang genious! approve mo ako ha? Hehehe.

Fren,
Ako eh 9 years old pa lang nang magsuot ng eyeglasses. My eyes are killing me sometimes. That is why when it comes to blogging, when I have posted an article, i go to sleep. Kung may comments, kinabukasan ko pa nasasagot.

[...] Eye relaxation technique can include the following write-up: Studies show that you can actually give your eyes some rest or relaxation by looking at a running water or bodies of water like a creek, river, waterfall, or the sea. Eye strain or fatigue is common to people who work in front of computers for long hours. During waking hours, your eyes get the most strain because you just can’t close them for a long time when you’re awake. Sounds logical, right? lol! However, you can give them some rest by looking at a running water or by looking at distant objects for a few minutes (see article on Blog Stress). This also recommended to people with astigmatism – an eye condition. [...]
