Beijing Olympics 2008 Draws Near
The Beijing Olympics 2008 draws near as it commences this coming August. I wonder what the Philippine Olympic team has been doing at this time wherein fact the Chinese Olympic team has been preparing for this for 4 years now. Yeah, just a random thought. Isn’t it that our Philippine team has always suffered defeat partly because of the lack of government support? Now that the Beijing Olympics 2008 is coming, how far have Filipino athletes gone with their training?
It’s just a random thought. When will the country win an Olympic gold medal? The closest thing to a gold medal was the silver medal won by Onyok Velasco two or 3 Olympics ago. Now that China will host the Beijing Olympics 2008, I cannot be so sure if we can even get to the quarterfinals in any event.
Our best bet in international sport competition like the Olympics is in boxing. I hope the Philippine Olympic team members bring home some of these Olympic medals:
Go, Team Philippines! Bring home some Olympic medals from the Beijing Olympics (I hope one of them will be the Olympic Gold Medal. Hehehe!). If not, then bring home the Olympic mascot as the consolation prize.

I agree. China has long been in silence about its power and talents. I think China deserves to rise to the occasion by bringing the Olympics in their own land. I just wish I could go to China and watch the Olympics live.

Philippines is blessed with persons bestowed with innate athletic capabilities. Thus, our government should enhance these skills and give enough support for these athletes so that they can be motivated to win in all their games. We should also support them in order for them to achieve their desired success whatever it may be. We should also pray for them.
Now this is the chance for the Philippines once again to prove its worth. Bring home the bacon and who knows, our flag might wave on high amidst all the problems we’re suffering at these moment.
