E-Commerce Basics

In my attempt to resell web hosting plans to small bloggers, I came across several issues and problems in setting the business up. Some of my blogger-friends have been asking why I haven’t started reselling web hosting plans up to this time.

One of the many considerations is the availability of capital. Another is a good shopping cart software. Yes, a good shopping cart is one that is vital in any E-commerce site. Reselling web hosting plans necessitates an ecommerce software. I am also designing an online store for a computer store here in Laoag City and I really must put these things together before moving on to other areas of reselling cheap web hosting plans.

In my search for a shopping cart software, I have tested several opensource types but I doubt how secure they are. With a commercial type, I think the security is somewhat better. Ashop is one of those I have stumbled upon the internet which offers savvy features in their demo modes.

There are two basic demo modes:

In shop front demo, you can see from the customers’ perspective what a pre-designed store can look like. Browse through the store and see the simple and complete process of purchasing products.

In admin demo, you have been given full control over the shopping cart software and can make all changes to the storefront. You can alter themes, site wide settings of text and layout etc. Click the “Go To Store” link on the top right hand corner to view the changes as you make them.

These features are highly important in a shopping cart software. I love the fact that you can use the software in demo mode before actually buying the product. It gives you the chance to give it a test run so if you’re satisfied, you might as well purchase it. If not, then proceed to the next product.
