Pacquiao-Marquez 2 Explodes Tomorrow March 16

Pacquiao-Marquez 2: Unfinished Business is set to explode tomorrow (March 16, 8am Philipine time) on C/S RPN 9 and a delayed telecast on GMA-7 at 10am of the same day. Manny Paquiao squares off again with Mexican pugilist Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez for the second time. Pacquiao-Marquez 2 is predicted to be one of the most exciting fights in the Superfeatherweight history.  The Paquiao-Marquez 1 ended up in a draw and boxing aficionados from all over the world especially Filipinos and Mexicans are once again on frenzy over the second encounter between the two world-class boxers.

Manny Pacquiao is the IBF International Super Featherweight Champion while Juan Manuel Marquez is the WBC Super Featherweight Champion. Their fight in Las Vegas tomorrow will be for Juan Manuel Marquez‘s title. The Pacquiao vs Marquez II is predicted to be one of the biggest match-ups in boxing history.

After years of waiting, Manny Pacquiao gets another shot at the world title. He has been a formidable contender all these years fighting and defeating Mexican greats like Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales and Oscar Larios.

Although some think Manny Pacquiao is an aging fighter, his conditioning is still unquestionable and though experts predict a 50-50 chance for the two fighters, Manny Pacquiao‘s punching power is favored by most boxing fans over Juan Manuel Marquez‘s technical expertise on the ring.

Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez both have knockout power but Manny Pacquiao has a distinct advantage when it comes to knockout ratio (based on records). Juan Manuel Marquez is dangerous in distance fighting. I’ve seen their first encounter and the combinations of Juan Manuel Marquez are really savvy. This is perhaps the greatest challenge on the part of Team Pacquiao – defense, because the Mexican fighter is equally good as Pacquaio when it comes to landing combination shots.

I hope Manny Pacquiao wins tomorrow. If not, I will be 5,000 pesos poorer. :-)

My money is on Manny. Go, go, Pinoy!
