Ramielle Malubay of American Idol 2008 Almost Got Eliminated
I’ve just seen the elimination night of American Idol 2008. Ramielle Malubay, the only Filipina contender almost got eliminated along with David Hernandez whose journey to the American Idol title finally ended by way of votes. Ramielle Malubay is actually my bet to win the contest and wife’s bet is David Hernandez. As you know by now, I won 500 pesos. Hehehe!
But the journey to Hollywood stardom isn’t over yet for the young Ramielle Malubay. She still has to compete with ten (10) other very brilliant talents of the American Idol competition. Ramielle Malubay has a very good chance to win the American Idol title though she looked nervous at times while performing like any other contestant especially in this stage of the competition.
The American Idol 2008 still has a long way to go and while it’s true we have our own bets in mind, Ramielle Malubay will still be my American Idol due to my bias as a Filipino. Win or lose, I will still campaign for this young lady who has shown talents and strength of character despite the controversies and/or scandal involving her via sexy pictures circulating around the internet which were downloaded from her facebook account. Ramielle’s photos may be scandalous (as others may think) and her chances may be affected, but nobody can deny the fact that she is one very talented Filipina which every Filipino should be proud of.

Jessie, kung pwede nga lang bumoto ano, hehee… I’ve watched some of the previous videos of AI sa Youtube and I can say that she is really talented, although she needs more confidence pa. She should be more sure in bringing herself onstage. Naku, sino ba akong mag-jujudge eh, ni wala nga akong nasalihang ganitong contest, hahaa…

I don’t believe that. The line-up was in random order. It just happened that she was at the bottom row and on the last chair and the ryan decided to start at the top. If he started at the bottom then I’m sure people will thing otherwise. LOL!
Anyway, as as he gets the vote, singing one bad song won’t get you eliminated in American Idol. Look at David Archuleta, it that was a talent contest and he would be done now. Not only that he forgot the lyrics, his version of the sung wasn’t that good either but since it’s not a talent contest, he is still there.

Hi Jessie,
Ramielle is indeed talented but her style repertoire is somewhat limited. As a Filipino, I would naturally want her to win as much as I want Manny Pacquiao to put an end to Juan Manuel Marquez this weekend; however, she displays uncertainties about her own capabilities right in the middle of her performance. This can be quite dangerous especially if she is in the top 4 and the situation becomes highly charged with tremendous tension.
She’s our best bet so far, and I think every Filipino who follows this contest should include her in their prayers. –Durano, done!

I can’t believe this girl got past David Hernandez. He is 100 times better than her. How can someone with midiocca talents like her get through on luck. Sooner or later it is going to run out and she is going to be gone. What a shame all the Mexicans aren’t as passionate about their singer as you Filipinos are. It was only your vote that saved her butt.
Still she is will not win this thing, the best female singer is the Irish girl, miles better than that little pinoy. Also the guys are far stronger than the girls. The way I see it, the little pinoys luck is going to run out soon.
Besides I have seen and heard mush better singers in the Philippines than her. She is way down the tables when it coems to true talent. Go to Cagayan De Oro to the floating pier restaurant and listen to soem of the singers there. They leave her dead.

You seem to have a big bias against Filipinos like me. If you think the Irish girl should win, so be it. That’s your opinion. Can you control the voting public to stop voting for Ramielle Malubay?
If you think the singers in the pier in Cagayan de Oro are better, then stop watching American Idol and just listen to the singers whom you appreciate.
Keep your opinion to yourself, ok? Create a forum for yourself if you want to campaign for your bet!

The truth is there are much better singers in the Philippines, amatuers included, who are better than Ramiele by a country mile. Juzco Jack…You maybe right but don’t compare her to professionals who made it to the top AI finalist because she’s really amateur, she’s so shy that she doesn’t even want to sing in their house with the visitors around - DON’T U EVER 4GET THAT!In 1 of Simon’s interview he predicted David A, Jason C and Ramiele or Brooke may land in the top 3 in terms of talent and popularity if the trend will allow and even if she glides down to number 5, it is just fine…you can’t stop the AI voters!

Ronron, your statement about her being shy is way way off. In a video with her family they were comenting on how outgpoing hse was when they had parties and in her own admission she stated that when they had friends around fro Karaoke she would take the mike away from them and start singing. Sounds real shy to me…lol

Good for you Allen…I am sure she will be very devoted to you for your vote. But you can’t all seriously believe she is going to win? I hope she can prove me and the millions of other viewers with wrong…but I stand by my comments. The best female vocalist is the Irish girl. Although I think American Idol should not allow semi professionals like her into the competition, but they did and she would be one of the top 3. The other 2 will be guys, because the guys have the better voices in this seasons competition.
As for Simons prediction…he has been wrong before. What about Michael Johns?
