Facebook VS Friendster
Facebook (www.facebook.com) is a fast-growing social network which intends to connect people through a messaging system, photo sharing and video sharing. Facebook is not popular here in the Philippines but Friendster is. I have signed for an account in Facebook and while it’s true the features are similar to other social networks like Friendster, its features are more tweaked and improved.
According to their website, anyone can join Facebook and account holders are capable of building complete applications they can use. The applications in Facebook are very customizable.
However, recent reports indicate that Facebook caters to adult materials containing sexy, naughty or nude photos of account holders (either theirs or someone else’s).
For a social network, Facebook still has some privacy issues that have to be resolved. Maybe it’s up to the users to control their privacy settings, but Facebook (allowing these obscene materials to be uploaded to their site) doesn’t make the whole network friendly to kids and teenagers.
Generally, I find the Facebook’s navigation, functionality and overall features more superior than Friendster. I might as well try becoming active in this network and MySpace to see the difference. For now, I will still stick to Friendster since most of my contacts have accounts there.

I also have facebook account, but i still prefer Friendster. nahihilo ako sa Facebook daming applications. Friendster is user friendly. Parang Nokia vs. Erickson hehe layo.

I am a member of soo many social sites but I haven’t tried this Facebook. I am only active in myspace and friendstersince 2003. Add me Jess haha..All my photos are accessible for all my friends not in whole public and especially my sexy shots lol! I put it not really obvious and it’s all private most of the time that nobody can see if they are not allowed..

I don’t have a Facebook account and I have no plans of getting one, hehe! Ok na sakin ang Friendster. I have an account at MySpace too but can’t find the time to update too many accounts…

I joined Facebook kuya because a friend of mine invited me and coz she bugged me to join.. so for her to shut up I joined. lol! The first month I joined facebook was the last month I logged in there. I don’t really like it there. I prefer Friendster. I’ve been using it for years already, plus all my high school and college friends are there.
btw. I don’t like Myspace.

I don’t have facebook account, I have not visited their site, not even once. Dami ko na ring nasalihang social sites but I hardly visit them, sa Friendster lang talaga ako nakakapag update. It’s also in friendster na nakita ko ulit mga long lost friends, classmates ko.
OO nga friend, add mo kami sa friendster, hehe!

First time ko narinig yang facebook sa Tito Red ko last January when he ask me if I have an account on that site, Sabi ko sa kanya friendster meron ako… Sikat na sikat daw kasi yan sa kanila don sa Canada, pero he warn me na dami daw don porn pics… hehehe… which corroborates sa sinabi ni master… un lan po baw!

i have accounts on both friendster and facebook. in terms of applications, i’d say facebook wins hands down.
the privacy settings of facebook are also easier to customize as it allows you to set who can access your complete profile, and what information you want to show on your limited profile.
my network in friendster is wider than in facebook, but maybe it’s because facebook is relatively newer than friendster.

I have a Facebook account but I prefer Friendster more because most of my friends use it. When I join social sites, my main purpose it to keep in touch with old friends. I believe that Friendster is still the most popular social networking site here in our country.

Before TPF was born I was very very active at friendster. Geez! Parang ginagawang kada-oras na tambayan. Though when I started blogging, I only check it around once a week, or minsan umaabot ng 2 weeks hindi na navvisit.
If you talk about nude photos, there are a lot at friendster. And I really find it irritating. Specially accounts with photos of sexy or pretty ladies, and owners claiming that they are what we see.
I’ve restricted my profile, since I have been a victim of those photo snatchers <__< ‘Di naman ako kagandahan at kasexihan pero nabiktima ako. Good thing there’s a function that you can repost abusers.
As of Facebook, my account there is inactive. I check it once in awhile when there’s a friend request. Yun lang. Sometimes I update it…
Social community sites are not my thing anymore. Though kung papipiliin ako, facebook’s applications are the best compared to friendster or even on myspace. Though I just don’t quite understand most of the functions. Sobrang dami kasi. I’ve been used to friendster, but it gets really boring visiting the site. Kung hindi lang madaming contacts doon, matagal ko nang tingangal ang account ko dun
