Reselling Web Hosting Plans

Recent days have been very difficult for me. Finding balance between multiple functions offline and online is starting to take its toll on me. Some of you, regular visitors and readers must have noticed that I haven’t been active online as I used to be. This is because I have this bold intent to resell web hosting plans primarily to bloggers who want to gain full control of their blogs’ settings within a control panel.

Some of you may already be familiar with a reseller web hosting plan. These are relatively small but adequate web hosting plans fit for small and new blogs. The disk space and bandwidth available for these accounts are variable in size. Some offer 50-500 MB while some offer 500-1,000 MB. If you’re a new blogger who want to gain full control of your settings like installations of publishing tools like Wordpress, Joomla and PhpBB, then buying a reseller web hosting plan might be the right choice. However, if you need to store files with large sizes and your websites use large databases, then a commercial account should be considered. But commercial accounts cost more and you’ll have to pay one-time fees for longer terms (like one-year and two-year plans) just to get a rebate. For a reseller account, some resellers only require that you pay on a monthly basis. In some cases, they ask for one-time quarterly payments. The payment schemes are very flexible, really. The good thing about availing a reseller web hosting plans is, if you’re no longer interested to continue your subscription, an email or text message to your reseller could accomplish just that without so many problems.

Moreover, since my present needs, incessant fancy for computer upgrades and new things to learn dictate that I move to another level of blogging exploration, I will launch within 30 days my own web hosting services. I will resell web hosting plans and domains for those who need them. Those whose blogs are on hosted by blogger and wordpress.com can contact me about this after I lay out the plans. The feasibility study is underway and the most difficult part of starting this business is choosing a web host that will allow me to resell plans. In my experience, I have tried several web hosts already. However, all my accounts are all commercial because of my work as a website designer. With my experience in availing web hosting plans, I know very well the factors to be considered in choosing a good one. If your time in this blog allows you to read more articles, may I suggest that you read an archived post dealing with this in greater detail. The article’s link is found in the Related Post below this one and is titled “Finding a Good Web Host for Your Website is NOT a Walk in the Park”. It’s one of my earliest posts which has gained a fair amount of traffic from the search engines and still continues to be read by others. In my experience, your web hosting choice will determine a great deal of your site’s success. A good web host’s services in terms of uptime rate and technical support will contribute a lot to your peace of mind (if you really care about your site being online at all times and functioning properly).

I have discussed these things with some close online friends who have been into blogging for quite some time now. I was truly amazed for their support to this venture I’m planning to engage in as of late. Amor, Marlene, Ellaine, Breggie and the rest my fans (as if I have one, lol!) have been supportive in different ways like promoting my soon-to-be business in their blogs which I think is very important aside from the fact that their presence in this blog sustains my zest to write more articles despite the fact that I really don’t earn much from doing so.

I will write more about this topic and it’s development in the coming weeks as I’m waiting for things to fall into their proper places for now. For one, producing financial resources to fuel this business will somewhat be difficult. This is because my offline business also needs some funding. Add to that the regular cost of maintaining a house and probably the coming of a baby this year. Wheww!

So, let us have a conversation. Tell me your thoughts about this business and I will be very willing to listen. Please feel free to comment and give suggestions.

    Bing,

Thank you for the support… I hope to engage in this business not just to earn something but be able to address some technical issues about web hosting in recent months. This might be a good way to hone my skills better since I will admit I will learn a lot of new things from this business. My experience in this field may be adequate but I want to learn more so I can share more things with my readers and other people around me.

I’m planning to hire 2 guys to assist me in setting up my server (if my budget will allow me to). However, I might just lease if my budget will not allow me to buy a new server. In any case, the post-sale services like maintenance and backup are on top of my priorities so that clients/subscribers won’t regret subscribing to my reseller plans.

  3. Friend, I’m using Linux Value, 200MB storage, 5GB bandwidth for P50 monthly. I’m already on 85% of my disk space so I’m thinking of upgrading to Linux Premier pa nga sana.

When I was looking for webhost last 2003, kokonti pa lang yung choices at sila nga ang napili ko. :D My domain will expire this August pa.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to your new venture and just like what Breggie said, we’ll support you all the way. :)

At sana magka baby ka na rin! :D

Amor, ang liit naman ng storage. Sabagay mura na rin yung P50 ang monthly. Meron pala ganyan ka mura???

    Marlene + Amor,

If you have been to my old blog – ilocandiaschools.org/myblog – you know what i’m talking about dahil isa yun sa mga sites na hindi ako tinantanan ng problema sa server. Kanya nga nilipat ko na eh. Blessing in disguise na rin siguro at problematic yun dahil naisip ko buuin itong “What Have You” na blog. Dito na ko nagfocus since then and for 4 months of existence eh nagdown pa lang sya ng 30 minutes. Not bad, kahit mas mahal nang di hamak.

!@#%%#$%! :lol

    Amor,

You said it right. Hahaha.

  4. Ellaine,

Alam mo bang kaya ko pinatulan ito eh in line with my present write-up. See? Relevance is the key to paid blogging. When the offer is relevant, the article will not interfere with your theme. Non-invasive kumbaga. It’s not just the amount you’ll get from the review. I’m seriously doing some research on reselling plans. I might offer all my readers the services if I have setup everything. I have to test the web host’s resources and facilities so I can offer good services to my future subscribers also.

Ako yung taong conscious sa quality of service eh.

One of the ways that you can update your Technorati is write articles. Magupdate ka ng blogs mo. Then ping Technorati after 5-10 mins. Although yung ping eh automatic sana from your publishing tool like WordPress or blogger.
