10 Reasons Why Filipino Bloggers are Very Sociable

The title says it all. For some reasons, I’m compelled to believe that Filipino bloggers are sociable bloggers. In fact, I think we are the most sociable group of bloggers in the blogosphere.

For a quick recap of my observations, please scroll down the short list below and check if you exhibit the following:

Loves tags/memes
Loves exchanging links
Loves interacting with commentators
Loves popularity contests
Very conscious about link popularity
Very active in social networks
Very active in using shout boxes
Very active in bloghopping
Very active in promoting products through paid ads
Very conscious about blog themes and templates

If I missed something, please let me know. Your own observations will be highly appreciated. And as part of being sociable, I will hold another contest titled “Most Sociable Blogger” whose winner will have the chance to occupy a very special space in this blog for the rest of the week. This contest will run starting this month. The winner will get the chance to be featured in this blog for the whole week until another winner takes her/his place. Call this my way of promoting other blogs in this blog. Remember, your exposure in this blog will be very important (see the square box full of hearts on the sidebar). So hurry, submit your nominations for the “MOST SOCIABLE BLOGGER” (except yourself and this blogger) for the 3rd week of February along with your comments to this post.

Nominations will end in 2 days (for the first winner) and future nominations for the succeeding weeks will be held every weekends. Counting of votes will be done every Sunday thereafter and declaration of winners will be held every Monday of the week. The winner’s site link + photo will stay on the top portion of the sidebar for one full week.

I admit I am the 3,4,6,10 blogger only. I want to improve 8 and 9 cos i don’t have enough time to bloghop and I’m very slow in grabbing opps:-). But I don’t totally ignore 1,2,5 and 7, I know they’re part of blogging, too.

I am into social networks at first. Being a blogger and being sociable was the influenced of senior bloggers. I don’t even aware at first about link and popularity, templates and themes especially paid bloggings. I just explore and explore on my own nor even asking anyone what to do and then here I am, considered as one of seniors or juniors?haha. I just go with the flow of blogosphere. Pero kuya ha, it’s really a brilliant idea. I salute you for coming up with this kind of endeavor. For one, as the promoter of this contest, you are just within our reach. I mean, we could easily get in touch with you. I don’t want to name names but other sites holding contests feels like they are high and mighty. They don’t even care to reply to all ur messages. So what’s the point of coming back with them? It’s like a one-way traffic. You promote their site, yes they link you up coz they feature you, but that’s all. No social contact with the promoter. I am not too sure if other bloggers have experienced the same…

I know that. Madaming nagpapakontest na madamot. Gusto nila ang benefits sa kanila lang. That’s not my idea of community-building. if you want to build a community, you have to give a lot of yourself. Teamwork ang blogging eh… At alam ko ring kundi sa mga readers and co-bloggers ko eh walang pupuntahan ang blog na to. In fact I can give up blogging pero nakikita ko naman na maganda ang human side nito. I’m not a hardcore, traffic-hungry blogger kaya siguro I can afford to give a lot to readers and fellow bloggers kaya ko ginagawa ito. Andun na yung may traffic sa site ko pero what’s more important is I give importance to others who need more exposure of their blogs. Madaming blogs na kung papansinin lang natin eh maganda naman ang contents. Hindi naman malaki ang blog na to pero kahit papano eh gusto kong gamitin para makatulong kahit konti lang sa iba.

Yeah. So, so, so TRUE!I know you don’t blog for fame nor a traffic-hungry type of blogger, though I am aware how famous you are and nothing can stop you from being known in the blogging community. I am actually promoting your site to my friends that’s why most of them are here, hahaha! I always tell them if they want a no-nonsense blog, they could come and visit you. Fan na fan mo ako eh! SI RJ pa rin ung president ng fans club mo, haha! You may say I have a good taste coz I’ve chosen the best Idol in town, hahaha!!!! I am not telling all these coz we are blogger friends. I just want a fair contest where everybody can win. Whoever that is is unknown. I’m not really sure of the answer but I cna speculate that Pinays are more sociable and love chatting more than Pinoys. That’s most likely the reason why there are more Pinay bloggers than Pinoy bloggers.

hello jess, that’s a very good observation but frankly when i started to blog i can only be categorized with numbers 1 & 8. imagine hapit na diay ko dili ma belong sa pinoy blogsphere. yeah. that happened with my wordpress blog. and after several months i got a pagerank of 5. it was just normal for me bt friends who are into blogger blog wwere the one excited. so i decided to make a blogger account and i can now identify with almost all of those. i have now a chatbox. and am asking for links, and joined communities.
