Mybloglog Lags
Mybloglog is currently down. Actually, since last night, the site has been down due to unknown reasons.
Mybloglog’s widget is one of the widgets that I have identified to load at a very slow rate. I have deleted the Bumpzee widget here because it was the most problematic of all widgets I have encountered.
For Mybloglog users, don’t expect your avatars to appear when you comment here for now. They simply won’t. I just find it a bit annoying when I open this blog and don’t see the faces of people paying me a visit. These widgets can cause a little trouble especially when their servers are down, the loading time of your blog slows down as well.
For bloggers, I think the widgets of our social networks like Mybloglog and Blogcatalog have become an integral part of our blogs, either as ornaments or source of information on who visits who. Ornaments I say because our blogs can still live without these widgets. They are in fact dispensable. However, due to their importance in providing us information about our visitors, we can’t seem to stay away from them.
The lag in Mybloglog’s widgets could caused by system overload. It is up to now one of the largest social networks among bloggers. It is owned by the internet giant Yahoo!, if I may add. As a starting blogger myself, Mybloglog was my first network. It was the first good source of this blog’s blogroll and up to this time, I receive a fair amount of visitors from the network each day.
For newer bloggers, I strongly suggest that you join Mybloglog, among many other social networks for bloggers (despite some problems with their server). It’s one very good place where you can connect with other bloggers and if you get lucky, you’ll get a few link exchanges.

Hi kuya! I’ve actually been wondering since last night. I thought I accidentally erased the code from my dashboard or something that’s why it’s not there anymore. I opted to check your site, I knew you also have the same widget. And here I saw you’re entry. Grabe, you’re up to date, ever! I hope it comes back up though. It’s kind of weird not seeing the faces of your visitors.

@topic: I ‘m not having a hard time viewing my bloglog widgetss, sorry just widget, haha i only use blogcatalog, well at least for whats embedded on my site.
Oh well, I hope you can fix them soon.

hi manong jessie! napansin ko rin na kahit mybloglog ako, hindi malalaman ng bloggers na nag visit ako sa kanila unless mag leave ako ng msg kac im not using the PC na ginamit ko nong nag register ako sa mybloglog,minsan ko lang un gamitin na unit. Paano ba ang gawin pra kahit anong pc ang gamitin ko ay ma register ang mybloglog ko?though minsan gusto ko rin na invisible ako,but ok rin na ma register ang name ko sa recent visitors nila.

I hear what you’re saying about some widgets slowing down a site but I just don’t have the heart to delete the My Blog Log one, I love to see the faces!
