I don’t like having to re-install every widget and plug-in to make a theme work. It can be very frustrating.

yeah, you’re right… it’s utterly tiresome to re-install widgets and plugins every now and then. i have been frustrated a couple of times doing those tasks.

changing themes is exciting for me… I would want to create a new theme but I have limited time nowadays. I did encounter problems when I was just starting, even stayed awake the whole night just to make things work. Gladly I have a local WP installation where I can test my theme before I can use it online.

that’s a great idea, Amor. u see, it really is a painstaking job to re-design the layout of a blog… it’s a good thing it only took u the whole night. for others, it took them a few days… i myself have experienced that.

however, i have seen many foreigners (americans usually) who are kinda choosy in blog layouts… but for busy bloggers like us, we cannot seem to care if the layout passes their standards. for me, the content should be the killer, not the layout. what would you do with a good layout without good posts, right?

And some themes look great but have letters that are too small, making it not reader-friendly anymore. You have to check how your site looks using different screen resolutions, too.

Once you have settled for a great theme that works fine for you, then it’s time to focus more on content. My humble view is that changing themes too often is time wasted to get your blog going in a constructive way. The perfect look can never be achieved if we are realistic and pragmatic about it. A clean look is always the best solution. All in all, working on various themes is an experience by itself. But the sooner you create an identity and brand for your site, the faster you can move forward in your blogging. There’s always another time, say six months or one year down the road when you can start looking for a re-design.

Don’t worry about the PR things too much too soon, I had a blog that I did not post much for months, and it got to a PR4 until a month ago just by existing, another one got slapped to nothingness but the traffic wasn’t hit.

You’re lucky to have found out the flaws of blogger early, I did too but a mix of super easy blogger and long procrastination on my part made things what they are rigt now, plus.. some cyber squatters have decided to take root on the .com TT_TT
