Google Adsense Strikes Again
My blogging life has gotten worse after reading the much-dreaded email from the Google Adsense team. Just this morning, I received an email saying that my account has been disabled. There is no clear explanation as to why this move was done.
The email reads:
While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we’ve decided to disable your account.
I got this message about 24 hours after posting here about an elicit substance wherein the objective of the article is to educate the readers about this drug and how it affects the lives of millions of people worldwide. WTF!
I know for a fact that Google Adsense prohibits sites containing illegal gambling and prohibited drugs and all that not-so-wholesome stuff. But hey, I don’t intend to flood the streets with heroine or cocaine. I deal with medical terms in most of my blog posts and it’s inevitable to use words that are related to medicine or nursing like “drugs”, “addiction”, etc.
I wonder why the staff of Google cannot differentiate between selling drugs and educating people about drugs. Somehow I can’t blame them since machines and softwares do the task of crawling websites for “hot” keywords.
I don’t want to change my style of writing or delete my blog post just to satisfy a giant company’s requirements. In fact, I don’t care whether Google bans me for life. My posts are for educational purposes and not to advocate vices. Never will I tell my readers to go out and try this or that.
Complaints are futile. I’ve long realized that even before I signed with Adsense. Sites with traffic as high as 5,000 per day are even banned. I don’t expect them to listen to a site owner like me whose traffic barely hits 200 per day.
The issue here is not getting the attention of Google and request for a reinstatement of account. The issue here is Google’s ineptness to distinguish a site for education from a site for vices and all that stuff. The truth of the matter is, I haven’t even earned $1 from Adsense. Fortunately, there are other ads network out there which are not as strict and as inconsiderate as Google. Well, I have to admit, I have to monetize my sites to pay some of my bills like web hosting costs (and maybe electricity for staying up all night writing blog posts, lol!)
So, for those who do not wish to have their Adsense disabled, don’t use keywords that will probably qualify your site to be listed in Google’s blacklist. Try to refrain from using words related to drugs and vices. Google’s machines are not fool-proof but they certainly show evidence of foolishness in banning your account (even if your intention is good in writing the article).

I had the problems with Adsence too and didn’t wrote the answer to them at time. After that I’m persona non grata for all my life. If you want to take them, don’t look to understand, write them urgently the answer with what they want. If no, you will have the same as me -persona non grata for Adsence forever.Do it NOW!

liudmila, thanks for your concern. but honestly, i don’t intend to serve google ads anymore. i don’t wanna waste my time begging them to re-consider my sites… what i want to do is concentrate on writing more sensible and informative articles. at any rate, thanks for being a friend. take care!

faizirizal, it’s ok… i really don’t mind not serving adsense ads. if u take a closer look, there are lots of alternatives to adsense. some of which are found in this blog.

Really kabayan, Google is that strict? I’ve read somewhere too that Google doesn’t like PPP, and whoever has this site on his/her blog gets a 0 page rank. But WTH, i still go for PPP noh.

Yes kabayan, Google is very strict. It doesn’t want other competing ads network to appear on your site. They have banned a lot of sites already (even those with high PR) and people everywhere complain about this injustice. If you’re to ask me, PPP is a lot better because the payouts are higher and you control your workflow, time and job orders. But using Pay-per-click like adsense, you just can’t do that. Just work hard on PPP and you’ll earn more money than when you serve adsense. Testimonies of top PPP bloggers justifies my statement. Daming pinoys na kumikita sa PPP (ranging from 1K-3K US dollars).

Kuya u remembered when I was ranting about PPPs diaspproval of my blog coz it contains mature materials daw? Ung nagpost nga ako ng photos ng mga fetus at ulo na inuuod? Im sure u can still recall them coz u were looking for them in my page and i deleted them all. Almost the same here with u, un ng lang from adsense ung email mo, hehe…
